AIRCRAFT
The Sukhoi range of aerobatic aircraft was originally designed before the break-up of the Soviet Union and was designed absolutely without regard to cost. This means that their technology is still significantly ahead of any Western competitor, as for example :
-
Hot cured carbon-fibre main spars, for no heat sensitivity (i.e. you can paint the aircraft any colour) as well as a kevlar outer covering.
-
Titanium rather than steel in areas such as exhaust; battery box; firewall; undercarriage; wing-ribs, etc.
-
Forged magnesium for control linkages, whereas Western competitors tend to use welded steel, etc.
-
The use of the superb nine cylinder geared, supercharged engine – the most powerful aerobatic engine in the world
Certainly the Sukhois are the most successful of the world’s aerobatic aircraft and, in terms of quality of construction, pleasure of flying, as well as incredible value, there really is no competition
But, in my opinion, the added value of this airplane is, definitely, the pleasure of flying on it!
In this sense there is no competition.
PERFORMANCE
I fly on my Sukhoi-31 M, a single-seater aerobatic aircraft that, with its more stellar 9-cylinder engine, a very high-tech structure entirely composed of titanium, carbon and magnesium, is capable of achieving incredible performances.

GUIDO RACIOPPOLI
I achieved the PPL 1986 patent at the Aero Club Milano flight school. I immediately joined the Aero club Aerobatic Group, with which I participated in the first races of the Italian Championship, in the various categories with my first aerobatic plane: the CAP 21. Since then I have participated in numerous national and international contests.
I have experience on different types of aircraft that have allowed me to venture on numerous trips from North Africa and Central Africa to Northern Europe, also making the transatlantic crossing from Senegal to Brazil.
In 2013 I obtained the qualification as an instructor (CRI).
To date I have + 3000 flight hours of experience
But my passion are events and air-shows, in which I perform as a soloist, following the calendar of the Frecce Tricolori. I still participate in the artistic competitions of the Italian Championship in the 4-minute freestyle category, also known as Libero Integrale.
I live in Milan, with my wife and two promising daughters.
